And despite my mother’s terror, I wasn’t raped, murdered, or robbed. Smobgirl = 1, Craigslist = 0.
Now I have a conundrum. These are arguably nicer (and definitely more expensive) than the wheels on my car, but they aren’t my preferred color. Which set gets the snow tires?

What’s the other set look like? Same size?

Plastidip them for prosperity.

Black, double 5-spoke, 16s instead of 17s. I like black wheels better on the car but I ended up with awful snow tires o n them so that may be the deciding factor. I know I can get Blizzaks for the 17s but I’ll see if I can play around a bit more and find some other options for both.

Preferred color is metal flake red?

Once I wrap the car in gold.

Matte black with gold stripes with lace work in them. Yes.

Snow tires on the smaller wheels, summer on the big ones

I need a profile of the car and then a profile with these leaning against the current wheels...

Powder coat the new wheels.

Should be the logical answer but the last time I went shopping for snows on the 16s I ended up with Pirellis as my “only” option. I refuse to buy those again.

I’m guessing you meant posterity but if they make me richer I’ll for sure go that route!

Some Fiat fanatic would murder me. Plastidip could work though.

I am not the best at idioms due to too many night shifts. I believe at work the other day I said “get all your ducks in a basket” or something like that. I need a vacation.
But yeah, dip them gold, fool someone, buy other rims, repeat.
![]() 02/05/2020 at 21:51 |

If you're buying new tires I would put snows on the smaller rim assuming they are cheaper.

I would, in fact, not murder you!
![]() 02/05/2020 at 21:57 |

I’m a fan of ducks in a basket so that’s cool too :)
![]() 02/05/2020 at 21:57 |

Indirectly that'd kinda prove your mother right.

Then go with whatever you can get better snow tires for as the winter wheels.

I have 195/55 R16 Blizzaks on the Mini

Done.

They the run flats? Some sort of Blizzak run flats did come up in a couple searches. Not cheap.
I’m trying to find 205 or 215 width to fit a 7-inch wheel a little better, but I’ll go 195 if I have to.
![]() 02/05/2020 at 22:38 |

Wow, never would have guessed that! Is it just a width issue?
![]() 02/05/2020 at 22:51 |

No, they arnt run flats... I’ve never had a puncture in them in 2.5 seasons t ho
195 fits well on my 6.5, it should fit a 7 as well.
![]() 02/05/2020 at 22:55 |

I’ve never had issues finding blizaks in the 205/55-16 size.
![]() 02/05/2020 at 22:58 |

Yeah, it’ll fit but they’re narrow enough that the wheel sticks out quite a bit. I’d rather have that extra little bumper for protection. Maybe I should call a Firestone directly and see if they can help.

It could be a people not trusting me to know what I want issue. The Pirellis were bought sort of under duress from the closest shop to where I bent an old wheel. The few places I’ve called since haven’t been particularly helpful but they input make/model and won’t believe I’m not running spec wheels.
(And the wheels are 7” and not 6.5” because no one could find 16x6.5 wheels with the right bolt pattern)
![]() 02/05/2020 at 23:10 |

Spec is 195/45-16. I’m not sure how much sidewall I can fit, to be honest.

I found an old Fiat 124 sedan today, actually, sp eaking of nifty wheels. I’ll post it later sometime :)

if I recall you’ re in the denver area, maybe your town offers something similar

I’m losing track of what sizes I’ve searched for what tires at this point. I think I was looking for 205/45 or 205/50, w hich pretty much don’t exist. So I either scour the googles to see if I can fit a 205/55 or deal with wheels that stick out way past my tires.

I’d usually go for a public parking lot or something but OEM Fiat wheels seemed like such a niche item that I figured there was no way it was a setup . The guy selling them was really nice! (I did text my mom his address and phone number just in case).

I have run 205 summers and 195 winters on the same 6.5 rim, I couldn’t really see or feel any difference. I’m not sure if those 10mm will make a difference for you ¯\_()_/¯
Of course if you had a 4x100, I would have sold you my Mini's older rims for cheap! Damned Fiat :p

Nothing some plastidip can’t fix.

I have 205/55/ 16 Goodyear Wintercommand tires, on a 16x7 wheel.
Super happy with this set up so far. The tires really don’ t stick out that far.

Oh that’s a weird ass size.

That’s frustrating as hell!
